Thanks to friend in New York who spotted this article in today's Boston Globe. It quotes a newly released McKinsey study as well as George Colony, the founder and CEO of well-regarded Forrester Research.
The bottom line: technology will benefit from the flow of scientific and engineering talent from Wall Street (where it was hired to create the Frankenstein products that eventually ate the financial system) to tech (where it will create products that will revolutionize the way we live.)
I agree with much in the article, though the innovation cycle will take a while to yield fruit. Still, this remains a bright spot in a landscape that needs all the help it can get.
