“I’m already $38,375 in debt and I only own a dollhouse,” written by Gary Alt in February of 2010, is one of our most read blog articles from month to month. The article highlighted the fact that the national debt was estimated at over $40,000 for every man, woman, and child. I thought it would be interesting to show what that figure is today – three years later – and show a quick glance of our nation’s massive debt problem.
Today, it is estimated that the national debt per person is over $53,000 (source: usdebtclock.org). That is almost a 33% increase from 2010!
