Gary E.D. Alt, AIF®, CFP®
Gary Alt is a co-founder and principal of Monterey Private Wealth, Inc. Gary is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® and earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation through the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. He holds a Certificate in Financial Planning from the University of California Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Before establishing Monterey Private Wealth, Gary co-founded Willow Ridge Capital Advisors, focusing on wealth preservation for affluent families and trusts, as well as the needs of retirement planning for business owners. He has held numerous management and executive positions in several public companies, including Polycom, where he oversaw the rapid expansion of that firm’s video conferencing network business. Among other responsibilities, he evaluated companies for potential acquisition, spearheading a $339 million acquisition of an Israeli company traded on the NASDAQ and Tel Aviv Stock Exchanges.
Gary currently serves as the president of the Rotary Club of Pleasanton and has served in various positions on their board of directors. He was on the board of directors for Pleasanton’s Museum on Main Street for four years where he founded their endowment committee. As a scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts of America, he served as a high adventure leader and as a mentor to those working toward the rank of Eagle Scout. He also worked closely with the chiefs of the Pleasanton Police Department and Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department to develop a program for Leadership Pleasanton through the Chamber of Commerce.
Gary and his family reside in Pleasanton, California. He loves to be outdoors with his family hiking, running, cycling and trap shooting.
