Risk Profile

Introduction

Why is it important to know your risk profile? Your risk tolerance is the most important factor in determining your investment strategy and asset allocation. It’s important to make investment decisions based on the appropriate level of risk and reward tradeoffs. The key is to take the least amount of risk possible while still achieving your financial goals. A portfolio that is aligned with your risk tolerance will help you to sleep more peacefully at night.

Risk Profile Questionnaire

One of our first steps as your plan’s investment adviser will be to ask you to complete a risk profile questionnaire designed to gauge your attitude toward investment risk. Each investor has a unique risk profile, due to different perceptions of risk and personal circumstances. After completing the questionnaire, you will be given a risk score. This score corresponds with one of the Efficient Value ™ portfolios shown below.

Efficient Value™ Portfolios

While you can choose to invest in individual funds offered in your plan, your plan also offers several different portfolio structures, called Efficient Value™ portfolios, which are designed to target specific risk ranges, return levels, and investment strategies. Our Efficient Value ™ portfolios are diversified across asset classes, and are highly structured and disciplined to perform at a given level of risk and return. In order to select an Efficient Value™ portfolio strategy that may be right for you, match up your score from your completed risk profile questionnaire with the appropriate portfolio as shown below.
